Why Work Locum Tenens in Western Pennsylvania?

The Steel City of Pennsylvania

Though steel may no longer be the driving force behind Pittsburgh’s economy, the city is still bustling with many attractions that draw in tourists year-round. During football season you can, of course, grab tickets to see the Pittsburgh Steelers play, or check out PNC Park for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the spring. If you’re a hockey fan, then the Penguins are sure to keep you entertained in the colder months! Outside of sports, though, there is the Andy Warhol Museum for pop art lovers. It’s the largest collection of the artist’s works in the world! You can take a scenic riverboat tour and ride the Duquesne Incline.

Explore One of Pennsylvania’s OnlyBeaches”

Along Lake Erie lives the largest number of threatened and endangered species in the entire state in Presque Isle State Park. This area has several swimming areas and sandy beaches to lounge on. If you are interested in going birding, this is perhaps the absolute best area in Pennsylvania to do so! The park is filled with the most diverse number of animal species in the entire state! To support the local wildlife, the park hosts naturalist hikes several times a month. If you enjoy boating, there are boat ramps at the park and fishing opportunities. In the winter, they host skiing as well as ice skating!

Attractions Outside of the City

It can be daunting thinking about taking a job in a rural part of the country, but western Pennsylvania has some attractions that are sure to keep you far from boredom! Aside from the beautiful landscape, wineries, distilleries, and breweries dot the Laurel Highlands area of Pennsylvania. You can also visit battlegrounds that date back to the 19th century and tour one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s houses. For the more adventurous, you can rock climb, zipline, fish, hunt, and hike!
